Kevin Flórez (Kevin Rafael Flórez Rodríguez, born August 19, 1991, in Cartagena,
Colombia) is a key figure in urban champeta who broke out nationally in the
early 2010s with a run of party-ready Caribbean cuts that blended champeta’s
African-rooted groove with contemporary urbano hooks. He debuted with the album
