Kelly Ann Keedy Ladwig, known professionally as Keedy, was born on July 26,
1965, in Abilene, Texas and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the mid-to-late
1980s, she was one of the lead singers of the Milwaukee club and dance music
band Gerard, co-founded by Greg Gerard. The couple married in 1989 and signed a
publishing deal with Geffen Records that same year. Keedy's solo career began
when she signed with Arista Records in February 1990. Her debut album, Chase the
