Karsu
Karsu Dönmez, known professionally as Karsu, was born on April 19, 1990, in
Amsterdam to a Turkish family. She began playing the piano at age seven and had
her first performances in her parents' restaurant. Dönmez received formal
training at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Esra Dalfidan (vocals) and
Ferial Karamat Ali (piano). Her debut album Live aan ‘t IJ was released in 2010,
followed by studio albums Confession (2012), Colors (2015), and the self-titled
