Karin Ilona Stanek, also known as Karin Stanek, was born on August 18, 1943, in
Bytom, Poland, and was a Polish big beat singer. After winning a national
contest in 1962, she joined Czerwono‑Czarni and recorded hits "Jimmy Joe" and
"Malowana lala". Her first solo LP appeared in the U.S. in 1966, followed by the
band’s albums Czerwono‑Czarni (1966) and 17, 000, 000 (1967). Leaving the group
in 1969, she issued the German album Das geballte Temperament mit der unerhörten
Stimme (1979) and the English single "Let's Have a Party" (1981). Returning to
