Karel Černoch, born on October 12, 1943, in Prague, Czech Republic, was a Czech
singer, composer, and presenter. In the 1960s, he started his career with
various rock bands. His breakthrough came with "Píseň o mé zemi" ("A Song About
My Land"), which won first prize at the Bratislavská lyra festival in 1969.
Černoch returned to performing after 1971, performing in theaters and developing
his style across rock, jazz, pop, and musicals. Notable albums include Popelky
