Kara Jackson
Kara Jackson, born in 1999 and from Oak Park, Illinois, is an American poet,
singer, and songwriter. She began her artistic journey participating in spoken
word at Oak Park River Forest High School and later became the Youth Poet
Laureate of Chicago in 2018. Kara Jackson's musical debut came with the release
of her EP A Song for Every Chamber of the Heart in 2019. In 2023, she released
her first full-length album, Why Does the Earth Give Us People to Love?, which
appeared on several "albums of the year" lists, including by Pitchfork and
