Kansas City Six
Kansas City Six was an American jazz ensemble from the Count Basie Orchestra
established in 1938. The group consisted of the musicians Buck Clayton, Lester
Young, Eddie Durham, Freddie Green, Walter Page, and Jo Jones. They achieved
professional recognition for a musical style characterized by swing. Their
recording career began with sessions produced by Milt Gabler for the label
