David Damartin, known professionally as Kaf Malbar, was born on 14 February 1978
in Saint‑Denis, La Réunion (France) and began his career as a singer influenced
by dancehall and reggae. After discovering the genre in 1995, he released his
single "Les D'moizels" in 2001, followed by the album Le Yin et le Yang in 2010,
