K.C. Douglas
K. C. Douglas, born on November 21, 1913 in Sharon, Mississippi, was an American
rural blues guitarist and singer. After moving to Vallejo, California in 1945 to
work in naval shipyards, he entered the San Francisco/Oakland blues scene and
first recorded the single "Mercury Boogie" (later renamed "Mercury Blues") in
1948 with Sidney Maiden, Ford Chaney and Otis Cherry; the track would later be
covered by artists such as Steve Miller and Alan Jackson. Douglas released
albums such as A Dead-Beat Guitar and the Mississippi Blues (1954), K.C.'s Blues
(1961), and Big Road Blues (1961)...
