Justin Hinds, born on May 7, 1942 in Steertown, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, was a
Jamaican ska and conscious roots reggae vocalist. His career began singing in
local bars and on Ocho Rios beaches. He signed with Duke Reid’s Treasure Isle
Records, where his debut single "Carry Go Bring Come" (1963) topped the Jamaican
chart for two months. Throughout the 1960s he released dozens of singles,
including "Jump Out of the Frying Pan" and "Rub Up Push Up", and collaborated
