Judy Kaye, born on October 11, 1948, is an American singer and actress. She
studied drama and voice at UCLA, developing a vocal range spanning three
octaves. Kaye made her Broadway debut as a replacement Rizzo in Grease in the
1970s. Her breakthrough role came in 1988 when she played Carlotta in The
Phantom of the Opera, earning her first Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in
a Musical. She won another Tony Award in 2012 for her role in Nice Work If You
Can Get It. She has made several recordings, including Diva to Diva, and was
