Jua Cali
Paul Julius Nunda, known professionally as Jua Cali, was born on September 12,
1979, in Nairobi, Kenya. He began a music career at age 10. In 2000, Jua Cali
founded Calif Records with record producer Clemo. His first recorded track was
“Ruka” (2001), followed by “Nipe Asali” (2002). The debut album JuacaliSekta
(2006) featured previously released singles. The single “Kwaheri” (2007),
featuring Sanaipei Tande, became a major hit in Kenya. Subsequent albums include
Ngeli ya Genge (2008), TuGenge Yajayo (2013), and Mali Ya Umma (2019). Awards
