Rafiek George, known professionally as Journalist, is an American rapper from
the United States. He began his music career after graduating high school in
1995. He initially supported himself through various jobs including public
speaking and youth counseling while pursuing a recording contract. In 1999,
Journalist auditioned for Universal Records with Julius Erving Jr. as his
