Josh Caterer
Josh Caterer, born April 12, 1972, is an American singer and guitarist from
Carpentersville, Illinois, best known as the founder and lead vocalist of the
pop‑punk band Smoking Popes, formed in 1991 with his brothers Matt and Eli. The
group issued its debut Get Fired in 1993, followed by Born to Quit in 1994,
whose single "Need You Around" appeared on the Clueless soundtrack. After the
1997 album Destination Failure, Caterer left the band in 1998, converted to
Christianity, and issued the gospel EP Why Me (1999). Caterer returned to the
Smoking Popes in 2005, producing Stay Down (...
