José Rodríguez Vázquez, known professionally as José El Francés, was born on
November 14, 1971, in Montpellier, France. He is a French musician who raised in
a gypsy family with roots in flamenco music. He moved to Madrid at age 14. His
breakthrough came when his compositions were recorded by Camarón de la Isla for
the album Potro de rabia y miel. In 1992, José El Francés released his debut
album, Las Calles De San Blas, under the guidance of Pepe de Lucía. He continued
