José Aguirre
José Aguirre was born on August 16, 1970, in Pereira, Colombia. At age 11, he
showed an early interest in music, learning to play the trumpet through
self-taught methods. He is a musician, music producer, trumpeter, and composer
known primarily for his contributions to salsa music. He moved to Cali in 1988
and became involved with local salsa orchestras. His breakthrough came when he
joined Grupo Niche, where he spent 10 years serving as a trumpeter and
eventually became their youngest musical director. He has collaborated with
