Jorge Luis Velosa Ruiz, born on October 6, 1949, in Ráquira, Boyacá, Colombia,
is a singer-songwriter known as one of the initiators of carranguera music. From
an early age, Velosa was immersed in the rural and campesino traditions of his
region, which later influenced his artistic career. He initially pursued
academic studies, earning a degree in veterinary medicine from the Universidad
