Jorge Scibona, known professionally as Jorge Morel, and born on May 9, 1931, in
Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a classical guitarist and composer. He began
studying guitar at age seven under his father's guidance and later trained at
Pablo Escobar's academy. After graduating, Morel left Argentina to perform in
Ecuador, Colombia, and Cuba, recording his first solo LP. His breakthrough came
with support from Vladimir Bobri, leading to a debut at Carnegie Hall in 1961.
