Jorge Antonio Cafrune Herrera, known professionally as Jorge Cafrune, was an
Argentine folk singer and musician born on August 8, 1937, in El Carmen. In
1957, he formed the group Las Voces del Huayra and released the recording Las
voces de Huayra. In 1962, he appeared at the Festival de Cosquín, where he was
named the first revelation. Cafrune introduced artists including José Larralde
and Mercedes Sosa during his performances at the festival in the 1960s. Between
