Jón Þór Birgisson, known professionally as Jónsi, was born on April 23, 1975,
and is recognized as the guitarist and vocalist of the Icelandic post-rock band
Sigur Rós. Before Sigur Rós, he fronted early bands including Stoned and Bee
Spiders. In 2010, he released the single "Go Do", which preceded the launch of
his debut studio album Go that same year, followed by the live album Go Live.
His song "Around Us" was featured in film trailers and video game soundtracks
around this time. In 2011, he contributed music to the We Bought a Zoo film
