Jon-Erik Kellso, born on May 8, 1964 in Dearborn, Michigan, is an American jazz
trumpeter and cornetist. He began his professional career at age 11, initially
performing with symphony orchestras before transitioning to traditional jazz. In
1981, he had the opportunity to perform with Wild Bill Davison. After studying
at Wayne State University, Kellso played with ensembles such as New McKinney's
Cotton Pickers and J.C. Heard Orchestra. In 1989, he moved to New York City,
