Johnny Carroll
John Lewis Carrell, known professionally as Johnny Carroll, and born on October
23, 1937, in Cleburne, Texas, was a rockabilly musician. He began his musical
career at nine with a radio appearance on KCLE and formed his own band during
high school. In 1955, meeting Ferlin Husky led to a contract with Decca Records
under the name Johnny Carroll. His first single, "Rock'n'Roll Ruby", was
released in 1956. Carroll's career included appearances in KWKH Louisiana
Hayride and KRLD Big D Jamboree. He also signed with Warner Bros. Records in
