John Thomas Williams, born January 28, 1929, in Windsor, Vermont, was an
American jazz pianist. He began playing piano at eight and joined a local
ensemble by twelve. In March 1945, Williams toured with Mal Hallett's band.
After serving in the military during the Korean War (1951–53), he returned to
New York City, formed his own trio ensemble, and recorded two albums as a leader
for EmArcy Records in the mid-1950s: The Complete John Williams On EmArcy (1954)
