John Stowell
John F. Stowell, also known as John Stowell, was born on July 30, 1950, in New
York, and is an American jazz guitarist, composer, author, and lecturer. Raised
in Connecticut, he studied under Linc Chamberland and John Mehegan. In the
mid-1970s, he met bassist David Friesen in New York City, leading to a
collaborative duo that recorded and toured extensively from 1976 to 1983. His
debut album Golden Delicious was released in 1977. Throughout his career, he has
