John Reardon, born on April 8, 1930, was an American baritone and actor. Making
his debut with the New York City Opera in 1954, he sang 33 roles with them until
1972. He was a member of the Metropolitan Opera House from 1965 to 1977,
performing in operas such as Carmen and Jenufa. Reardon's breakthrough role came
in 1967 when he played Orin Mannon in the world premiere of Marvin David Levy's
Mourning Becomes Electra. He also starred alongside Phil Silvers in the Broadway
musical Do Re Mi, performing "Make Someone Happy." Reardon's television work
