John Louis Hansen, known professionally as John Mogensen, was born on May 5, 1928, in Denmark. He began his music career as a member of the vocal quartet Four Jacks & a Jill from 1956 to 1963. While still part of the group, Mogensen gained popularity as a songwriter and launched a solo career in 1971 with the album John Mogensen.
