John Alexander McGlinn III, born on September 18, 1953 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, was an American conductor and musical theatre archivist. He studied music theory and composition at Northwestern University, graduating in 1976, and conducted members of a Houston Grand Opera production of Show Boat. He signed with EMI Records, releasing Gershwin Overtures (1987) and Show Boat (1988). From 1987 to 1992 he produced complete score recordings of Anything Goes, Brigadoon, Annie Get Your Gun, Kiss Me, Kate and Sitting Pretty. He passed away on February 14, 2009.
