John Knowles, known professionally as John Kincade, was born on 25 June 1946 in
Southport, Merseyside. He began his career as a pop singer in London during the
1960s, and his breakthrough arrived when he was discovered by an employee of the
record label Penny Farthing during a tour in Spain. Despite being featured on
the cover, John Kincade did not sing "Dreams Are Ten A Penny", which was
released under his name in November 1972 and reached number two in Germany. The
