John Hébert, born in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana, is an American jazz bassist
and composer. He began his musical journey with Bill Huntington as his first
contrabass instructor. From 1990 to 1992, he studied at the Loyola University of
New Orleans, performing with artists such as Steve Masakowski and Johnny
Vidacovich. Hébert continued his education at William Paterson University in New
Jersey, earning a Bachelor of Music for Jazz Performance. He subsequently moved
