John Foxx, whose real name is Dennis Leigh, is an English musician who gained
fame as the lead singer of the British new wave band Ultravox in the 1970s and
went on to a solo career known for electronic synthesiser music. Born in
Lancashire on 26 September 1948, he went to art school and formed a band named
Tiger Lily, which eventually became Ultravox. He left the band and released his
debut solo album Metamatic, which reached number 18 on the UK Official Albums
