Joel Plaskett
William Joel MacDonald Plaskett, born April 18, 1975, in Berwick, Nova Scotia,
is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose career includes folk rock, indie rock, and
rock. After learning guitar in Lunenburg and forming early bands, he joined
Thrush Hermit in 1992, releasing Sweet Homewrecker (1997) and Clayton Park
(1999) before the group disbanded in 1999. Plaskett's solo debut In Need of
Medical Attention (1999) was followed by releases with his backing band, the
Emergency, including Down at the Khyber (2001), Truthfully Truthfully (2003),
