Joan Chamorro is a Spanish jazz musician and teacher who was born in 1962. He
studied the classical saxophone at the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona and
is a graduate of the Taller de Músics. Chamorro is a multi-instrumentalist who
plays the saxophone, clarinet, flute, cornet, and double bass. Throughout his
career, he has collaborated with notable musicians such as Slide Hampton, Tete
Montoliu, and Bebo Valdés. In 2006, Chamorro founded the Sant Andreu Jazz Band,
an ensemble for young musicians where he teaches students aged 7 to 21 using a
