James E. Holiday, known professionally as Jimmy Holiday, was born on July 24,
1934, in Sallis, Mississippi, United States. He began his career as an R&B
singer and songwriter. In the early 1960s, Holiday recorded for Everest Records,
where he released his first single "How Can I Forget" which reached Number 10 on
the US Billboard R&B chart in 1963. His debut album Turning Point peaked at
Number 25 on the Billboard R&B albums chart in 1966. Later, Holiday moved to
