Jimmy C. Newman
Jimmy C. Newman, born Jimmy Yves Newman on August 29, 1927 in Mamou, Louisiana,
was a country music and Cajun singer-songwriter. He began his music career as a
teenager and released "Cry, Cry, Darling" in 1953, which reached number 4 on the
country chart. This led to performances on the Louisiana Hayride and membership
with the Grand Ole Opry from 1956 onwards. His hits include "A Fallen Star"
(1957) which peaked at number 2, top-25 record "Alligator Man" (1962),
