Jessi Uribe is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born Yesid Eduardo Uribe Ordóñez on March 22, 1987, in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Though he grew up surrounded by music, he originally intended to be a soccer player. It was in his teens that he decided to pursue music. He gained his first significant exposure in 2008 by participating in Latin American Idol, where he was selected among the top twenty Colombian artists to represent the country in Argentina, eventually making it into the Top 50 in Latin America.
