Jenny Evans, born on October 20, 1954 in London, was a British jazz singer. She
began her musical journey with vocal and piano training, studying under Trevor
Pinnock from 1966 to 1971. After completing her education in Munich, she started
her career as a jazz singer in the Dixieland genre. Evans collaborated with
notable musicians such as Benny Bailey, Al Grey, and Buddy Tate. In 1978, she
co-founded the Sextett Old Socks, New Shoes, which presented newly arranged
