Jay Douglas
Jay Douglas, born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a Canadian singer. After moving to
Toronto in 1963 to join his mother, Douglas began performing as a teenager at
Central Technical School. He joined the funk group The Cougars and performed at
venues such as Massey Hall, Roy Thompson Hall, and the Glenn Gould Studio. His
album Lovers' Paradise earned a 2012 Juno Award nomination for Reggae Recording
of the Year. On September 19, 2015, he premiered "Reggae Lane" during a mural
