Jay Chou, born Jay Chou Chieh-lun on January 18, 1979 in Taipei, Taiwan, is a
singer‑songwriter, composer and producer. He began formal vocal training at age
fourteen and signed with Alfa Music in 1999, releasing his first studio album,
Jay, in 2000, followed by Fantasy in 2001, which earned him the Golden Melody
Award for Best Album that year. Subsequent albums-The Eight Dimensions (2002),
