Jason Lee Roebke, also known as Jason Roebke, born in 1974 in Kaukauna,
Wisconsin, is an American jazz and improvisational musician known for his work
as a double bass player, cracklebox, percussionist, and pianist. He began
playing the double bass at age 14 and later studied under Roscoe Mitchell after
graduating from Lawrence University. Roebke earned his Master's degree from the
University of Michigan in 1998 and moved to Chicago, where he became part of the
