A duo formed in Los Angeles by Jan Berry and Dean Torrence, they are, along with
the Beach Boys, the creators of Surf music, the sweet pop that was the
soundtrack of California's golden youth in the 1950s and 60s. To them, and to
Brian Wilson who actually co-wrote it, we owe " Surf City ", the first single of
its kind to reach number one in the charts in 1963... in summer, of course.
