Jan Bertil Allan, born on November 7, 1934 in Falun, Sweden, is a jazz trumpeter
and composer. He began his career as a pianist in 1951 before transitioning to
the trumpet after moving to Stockholm. Allan played with Carl-Henrik Norin's
orchestra and later worked with Lars Gullin and Rolf Billberg from 1954 to 1955,
and again with Norin from 1955 to 1959. He led a quintet with Billberg from 1960
to 1963 and collaborated with notable musicians such as Arne Domnérus, Georg
