James Wesley Marsters, born on August 20, 1962, in Greenville, California, is an
American actor and musician. He studied at the Pacific Conservatory of the
Performing Arts from 1980 to 1982 and the Juilliard Drama School from 1982 to
1984. Marsters' music career started with his involvement in the band Ghost of
the Robot. He played the role of Spike in the television series Buffy the
Vampire Slayer, which aired from 1997 to 2003. He portrayed Spike in the
spin-off series Angel. Marsters has released albums including Civilized Man
(2005) and Like a Waterfall (2007).
