Jack de Nijs, known professionally as Jack Jersey, was born on July 18, 1941, in
Tjimahi, West Java, Indonesia. He began his musical journey at age seven with a
ukulele and later formed several bands, including The Dixie Stampers and The
Four Sweeters. In 1951, de Nijs moved to the Netherlands and continued his music
career with Jack & Woody, releasing hits like "Paulette" which topped charts in
Singapore and Peru. After a brief hiatus from music to pursue hotel management,
he returned to the industry as a producer and composer. His first hit as a
