Ivana Santilli
Ivana Daniela Santilli, born on August 4, 1975, in Toronto, is a Canadian R&B
singer and multi-instrumentalist. She began her musical journey at age nine
playing trumpet for her father's Italian wedding band in Toronto. Santilli
gained national attention as part of the R&B/pop trio Bass is Base, which
released two albums with A&M/Polygram & Island Records in the U.S. After the
group disbanded, she embarked on a solo career in 1999, releasing her debut
album Brown, which earned Santilli a Juno nomination for Best New Solo Artist in
