Itamar Assumpção, born on September 13, 1949, in Tietê, São Paulo, Brazil, was a
Brazilian singer. Growing up, he moved to Arapongas, Paraná at the age of 12 and
developed an early passion for music, leaving accounting school to pursue drama
and music performances. In 1973, Assumpção returned to São Paulo and began
performing at Lira Paulistana, a key venue for the Vanguarda Paulista movement.
His first recorded album, Beleléu, Leléu, Eu, was released independently in
1980. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Assumpção released several notable albums,
