In Essence
In Essence, a Canadian R&B group based in Toronto, was formed in 1993 by lead
singer Dru, Pops, Smooth, Que and Touch. Their debut single "You Will Never
Find" was released in 1999 and included on The Mix Tape, Vol. IV (2000). The
band met Funkmaster Flex during a trip to New York City, leading to their
signing with Franchise Entertainment in 2001. In Essence subsequently signed
with ViK Recordings / BMG Canada in 2003 and released their first album, The
Master Plan, which featured the a cappella song "Who We Are". The following
