Ike Turner & The Kings Of Rhythm
The Kings of Rhythm are an American music group formed in the late 1940s and led
by Ike Turner. After early performances in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the group
gained national attention with the 1951 hit "Rocket 88" credited to Jackie
Brenston and His Delta Cats, a record that later entered the Blues, Grammy, and
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame lists. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s the Kings of
Rhythm backed the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, contributing to soul classics such as
