I is a Norwegian heavy metal ensemble formed in 2005 in Bergen. The group was
established by Olve Eikemo, known professionally as “Abbath,” following the
temporary dissolution of the band Immortal. The initial lineup included drummer
Armagedda, guitarist Arve Isdal, and bassist Tom Cato Visnes. The ensemble
signed with the label Nuclear Blast in April 2006. The band performed its only
concert at the Hole-in-the-Sky Festival in Bergen on August 26, 2006. The group
released its debut studio recording, Between Two Worlds, on November 3, 2006.
