Hot Club de Norvege, a string jazz quartet from Norway, was established in 1979
by guitarist Jon Larsen alongside childhood friends Per Frydenlund and Svein
Aarbostad. Initially influenced by the music of Hot Club de France and French
gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, they formed a quartet with violinist Ivar
Brodahl, who was later replaced by Finn Hauge. In 1980, they started the Django
Festival in Norway, contributing to the international renaissance of gypsy jazz
