Homer Banks
Homer Banks, born on August 2, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, was a
singer-songwriter and record producer. He formed a gospel group at age 16 and
later began his singing career after military service. His early releases "A Lot
of Love" (1966) and "Hooked By Love" (1967) became Northern Soul classics in
England. Banks' songwriting career took off at Stax Records, where he
collaborated with Allen Jones and formed the songwriting trio We Three. Notable
compositions include "Who's Making Love" (1968), a number 3 pop hit and Number 1
